Roll out some orange
color polymer clay into a 1 cm log. Use the palms of your hands to roll out
the clay on clean work surface.

Tools used to make
the Halloween Fall Pumpkin.
- Small embosser 2.Large sewing needle
- Razor blade 4. Clean work
surface

Align the rolled clay
log against a ruler. I used the centimeter measurement on the ruler. Create
1 centimeter notches with the razor blade.

Roll clay in your palm
to form ball.

Roll clay to 3mm and
slice off two 2mm sections and form into a ball

Take the sewing needing
and mark the center of the clay ball. This will be the location for the
eyes.
Shape the clay into tear
drop shapes

Place the other tear
drop shaped piece of clay next to the other. Try to align the top part of
the eyes together.
Place one of the tear
drop shaped pieces of clay to the side of the marked location

This is what the
finished eye placement should look.

Almost the size of
pepper flakes. This will be the pupils.

And here is the place of
the pupils on the eyes.

Place the ball of clay
at the bottom and center of the eyes. Push gently on the ball of clay to
secure the clay.

Take a section of yellow
clay.

Roll the clay through
the pasta machine to flatten it. The pasta machine should be set to the
widest setting.

Create several 3mm wide
slices in the flatten clay.

Now slice several 5-6mm
wide sections. These pieces will be the straw or hair of the scarecrow.

You will next place
pieces of the sliced yellow clay around the top portion of the head. The
red dash line is a reference of where to place the sections of clay.

This is what you should
end up with after placing the pieces of sliced clay.

Lets make the hat for
the scarecrow. Take a lump of the brown clay and slightly flatten it with your hand.

Set at the widest
setting, run the brown clay through the pasta machine.

Use a 1.5cm and .5cm
circle cutter to cut out sections for the hat.

Take the small circle
clay cut out and shape into a ball and set aside.

Take the large circle
clay cut out and place pieces of different color clays on top. These will
be the patches.

Take a sewing needle and
score lines to create a sewn look.

Place the small brown
clay ball at the center of the large clay circle. Try to place it in the
center of the patches. Use the point
of a large stitching needle and gently blend the bottom portion of the ball
to the flat clay

Use the shaft of the
large stitching needle and gently flatten the top of the clay ball using a
back and forth rolling motion.

Place additional pieces
of clay on the top portion of the hat.

Place the hat on top of
the scarecrow head. Gently press down to secure the hat to the head.

Use a large sewing
needle to create the mouth.

Scribe a “W” shape with the
point of the needle to create the mouth.

Now scribe lines across
the “W” shape to create a stitch look.

And there you have a
completed scarecrow. Before baking this fellow, take a large sewing needle
and pierce beading holes. Follow the baking instructions on your polymer
clay package.
